As I pick up the pen and paper,
An exhilarating rush runs through me.
My adventure is steady
Till the words come –
Overflowing my brain,
Slipping through my thoughts,
Wanting to be chosen.
Which shall I pick?
Which ones are the best?
The right words flow through me entering the pen.
Ink unravels
Awakening old untouched memories
Like the sweet sound my violin makes when her bow touches the string,
Or when I first fell into a book.
Jigsaw pieces of my life
Coming together,
Creating my emotions -
Excitement, happiness, love
Anger, rage, madness,
A friend,
A breathtaking experience.
I realize
That a world of color
Was beyond reach
And now
My life is bathed in a different light.
And I sit in awe,
Staring at my pen and paper,
Wondering what it will give me on my next journey.

This is what I feel like when writing poems, and I wanted to share this feeling with everyone.
