"You cannot save people. You can only love them." -John Green

Tucked away
From this twisted place
Is a sea where waves
Caress Nature's face
Come with me
Stay for awhile
Wind against my skin
Is a hopeful pace
Here happiness radiates
Here you won't run
Here you won't cry
Here is the place
From your lullaby
There you would run
And there you would hide
But this is the place
Where you'll smile all night
It's not hard to get here
Just follow the light
Just look for the place
Where the smiles are bright
And once you get here
You'll see the sea
Once you get here
You'll be with me

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem about the comfort and happiness I felt when visiting Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, California. I find great solace in nature, and to this day, Pfeiffer Beach is still one of the most beautiful places I have ever found myself in. Many people who read this poem believe that I wrote it about unrequited love. There is a possibility that I was subliminally influenced by experiences in love while writing this poem. However, I remember writing this poem first and foremost as a means of expressing my love of that beautiful sea in Big Sur.
