This is All I Ask
You never know what I am going to say
You just know I will say something
You never know what you may encounter when we meet
You must simply know that I am very unique
Do not judge me, and I will do the same
Simply show me respect that is all I ask
 I am like a butterfly
I am pretty to look at
But come to close and I may fly away
I am delicate like a flower
 But strong like an ox
I don’t recommend trying to hurt me
Or my brothers will throw out the rat
Don’t tell me I am terrible
 But don’t tell me lies
Because I can tell the difference
 And don’t ask me why
 Simply take what I say
 Not as criticism
 But as a helpful hand
Take who I am and no more
 That’s all I ask
