You were the sun, and I was a rose.
You fed me life and I would grow.
My petals bright my branches strong
You kept me going all day long.

Sometimes a cloud would shadow you
It worried me, I didn't know what to do.
So I treasured the days when you were fully here
And hoped that cloud would disappear

But once the cloud was there to stay
That cloud it blocked out your loving rays
My petals wilted I began to die
There was nothing left of you and I

You were my life, you kept me strong
So what happens when you leave too long?
Well I survived my flowers died
Now I'm nothing and I know why.

And you are gone and today I wonder
If you are still shining in the yonder
What flower will you love the leave.
Will you disappear like you left me.

Because You were the sun and I was a rose
You left me in a shadow of cold
I grew thorns and prickles all over
Forever alone I stand and wonder,
