beauty is only skin deep

beauty is not the girls you see
on the front of a magazine
it is not on the face covered in
makeup, nor is it the size of your
jeans or the number you see when
you look down at the scale.
beauty is more than appearance,
it comes from within a person
it is the courage to be yourself
and overcoming your fears
pick yourself up and wipe away
those tears, it is time to realize
you're beautiful, my dear
