“If you're losing your soul and you know it, then you've still got a soul left to lose”
― Charles Bukowski

We promised to meet a long time ago,
But you don't remember,
You wouldn't, would you?
With your insouciance and mindless
Abandon
For my heart or my volatile
Trust
So I'll meet you someday
But you won't know me
We'll meet in a gateway by chance
A clandestine kind of Fate, one not observed
By any god
And not really destined for much more
Than tying up all the loose
Ends.

This poem seems so sad to me, but maybe that is not what you had in mind. And don’t get me wrong, I really do love it. There is something about the could-have-been, if-only kind of thinking that I find incredibly powerful.

I like this wishful sort of poem. I don't know, the hidden hopefulness of it all pops out to me. Wonderful job! :D
