Whispers of Maybe
If life was the way it was supposed to be
She would not be the girl she is
When she talked, the flowers would bloom
With the sun glinting off each yellow petal
When she walked, the sky would turn upside down
So she could glide on the clouds
When she smiled, the world would burst
Into a million bubbles
Swirling around in the silver wind
Rushing up to meet her soft palms
She would reiterate the importance of life
If life had granted her the eternal gift
Of being who she was supposed to be
But instead
She will only catch a glimpse of this sparkling sumptuousness
As it passes by in a whisper
Tangling through her hair as she sleeps
And when she awakens
She will have to be the girl
She is
