Alone
I am lost
The girl I see in the mirror no longer wears my face
Tears have replaced eyes
Cuts have replaced my mouth
And dry wispy skin
Has replaced years of happiness
The truth stands in front of me
Hidden by consuming shadows
Darkened by the artificial light I believed I lived in
A mother’s soft touch
Turns into ashes against my skin
A father’s caress
Is a hidden strike
Bruising my already battered face
A sister is no longer a sister
An allusion of the sun bathing my body in affection
My life became a lie
The day I saw my face on the milk carton
