Pots and Covers
My mother tells me
 Every pot has a cover
 And for every empty hand
 Somewhere in the world
 Another fits perfectly
 When the fingers intertwine

There is a person on this Earth
 With an extra pillow
And an empty spot in bed
Which they save just for me
So that we might dream together

Mom says the moon and the stars
 Live together in happiness
 Shining every night
 And that someday
If I follow the North Star
It will lead me in the right direction
 To wherever you are
 Whoever you are

I can only hope that she is right.
