Ode to the Seaside

The curling waves
roll gently onto the sand,
reaching higher
and higher
up the beach.

The shore is lined
with small shells and rocks...
Each one different,
an individual,
with its own personality.
The amount of them grows
after each passing cycle.

Light filters
through the leaves
of the palm trees,
creating a mirage in the air.

The skies above
are filled with puffy clouds,
towering over
the slowly rocking waves.

From a distance,
boats slowly glide
along the horizon,
leaving a vanishing track
behind them.

Seagulls frolic
high in the sky.
Landing occasionally
to take a short break,
leaving faint footprints in the sand.

The seaside
Is full of life,
and gives a
love for nature
that will stay
with one
forever.

The author's comments:
I have gone to the beach all throughout my childhood, and it's one of my favorite places to go. I have so many memories with my family there, so it will always have a place in my heart. There are so many beautiful aspects of the seaside and tried to capture them in this poem.
