Home is Where the Heart is
“I want to go home,” she whispers.
But, she is home.
Somehow it doesn’t feel like it anymore.
As children, home is where
Happiness lies.
But here,
The future has come too soon
It comes roaring in and it brings
The cracks in the walls and
the screaming.
There’s always screeching and
Now
She has nowhere left to stand.
What she thought was solid is shattering.
And no one ever noticed.
The fissures are too deep
And the cuts too bloody
And all she wants is to be
Home.
But I guess she can’t anymore
