The Struggle

Papers stacked in rows,
margins all aligned.
rainbows on the top,
each step so closely defined.
The neatness is a pall
for the chaos underneath.
For between the neat, clean rows,
splashes of bright life may leak.
Fighting, struggling to escape
the lie we call protection,
life, love, and magic
the lost traits of true perfection.
