Dance
This should be our dance.
This should be our night
Where the stars are made for us
And all the world stops and is still
As we spin and turn
This should be our night
Where the air is filled with love
And the skies are within our reach
And only here for us
I look at myself in the mirror
In a suit you’ll never see
Because my girl isn’t by my side
And she never will be
Can I really try
To dance and twirl and smile
When there’s another with his hands on you
Leading you around
Because he can’t treat you well
And he doesn’t know you like I do
He doesn’t love you
And I do
I look at the flowers
That you will never smell
I got your favorites – roses, blue –
To try and make you smile
But that was before you said
That our love never was
That it was just a phase
And you never really cared
You said that I was just an experiment
Now you’re dancing with some boy
Leaving me in a suit you’ll never see
With flowers you’ll never smell
My heart is filled with love
That you’ll never feel
So I take off the suit
And put on my dress instead
This should be our dance.
