I, the Lamb

Shepherding the lambs, those who live
Off the ground of the common man.
Not one can pass as a higher race,
All exist in the simplest span.
Broken down to this passive ideal,
I try to lead those who stray
But can I pretend to be the shepherd,
When living as the lamb, I have no say?
