Summer Storms

May 29, 2013
By Anonymous

Enormous black clouds roll in
hiding the suns rays,
A rumble of thunder shakes the ground,
A flash of lighting fills the room with light,
Heavy raindrops start to fall
flooding the streets,
Squirrels scatter for cover,
Birds begin to flee,
Roads are blocked with traffic,
Horns honking,
Another flash of lightning,
A boom of thunder,
The rain lightens to a drizzle,
One last sound of thunder rolls off in the distance,
A glimpse of light peeks through the clouds,
Birds begin to chirp again,
Little children begin to play in the left over puddles,
Summer storms,
They come,
They go,
Only to reveal the sun’s beautiful shine
once again.
