Dark, cold, bitter, black,
In your room, in the shack,
Does not talk, dose not speak,
Always living under your feet,
Does not go when you close your eyes,
Does not think but yet seems wise
Always here, always there,
Watching, crouching, a cold stair
Dark, cold, bitter, black,
Might just give you a heart attack,
Stuns you, scares you, chills your bones,
Makes you run for the phone,
Makes you run for your life,
Makes you fun for the knife,
There's no use to run away,
It's there every step of the way.
