Reality
Reality never sleeps
He simply stays up all day and all night, sometimes working
Sometimes dancing, or reading about the best ways to cook fish
He’s never even tired
And he doesn’t have many friends
Whenever others tell him of their problems, he has no troubling identifying the root of the predicament
Which usually happens to be the person complaining in the first place
“It’s the truth,” he always says, which no one likes to hear
But he’s just being realistic
Reality notices himself doing the same things time and time again
He’s had ham and eggs for breakfast twice this week already
And he’s missed the bus at least once a month since November because he took too long brushing his teeth
Reality has a son
But no wife; in fact, no woman to speak of
His son is like him, and they get along more like friends
They can’t understand why people are so concerned with fantasy
Reality Jr. asks questions of his father constantly
And always receives honest and straightforward answers
He wants to be just like his dad when he grows up
You could say that truth runs in the family
