Those sparkling eyes,
filled with hope and opportunity.
Those sweet faces,
smiling brightly in each photograph.
Those innocent lives ending so soon,
disappearing so quickly.
Hearts are broken.
Tears are flowing.
Each thought of them causes a flood of despair and dejection.
Families and friends tremble with shock,
with sadness and horror.
They were just like the rest of us;
They had dreams to fulfill.
They never received a chance,
a chance to live the rest of their lives.
Everything has become just a memory,
but a memory that will never be forgotten.
Keep those people in your hearts,
their families in your thoughts,
as you celebrate each Christmas.
