The words that you lived by
Abiding by them until the end
The most televised event in history
70 hours of footage
70 hours of mourning and sorrow
A country left in disbelief
There was so much left to do
Unfulfilled promises to end discrimination
Unfulfilled promises to go into space
The best and the brightest
A leader and an icon
Young, vibrant, glamorous
All that’s left to say is
Thank you Mr. President
For all the things you’ve done
And all the that you’ve battles won
