I should be there with you.
You know it.
I should be by your side,
Our fingers intertwined.
A perfect little knot,
One that somehow came undone.
I should be safe,
Wrapped in your warm embrace,
Bundled in your caring arms,
You holding me close to your heart.
I should feel it beating,
Beating for me.
You should be kissing me,
A feather touch of the lips,
Upon my mouth, my cheek, my neck,
Telling me you love me,
Making me feel innocent.
But no.
No.
I made one mistake,
Took one step too far,
And I fell.
You jumped to save me,
But it was too late,
And we both got hurt.

Haha, no I didn't sleep with him! What I meant by taking one step too far was that I said something and crossed the line, which started a fight between us, which led to us breaking up.

First of all, nice job! Second, What does this mean? You said "one step too far," does that mean you let him in by trusting him, or did you sleep with him?
