Shadows of Trees
Last summer was the best I ever had
I drew closer to my friends
 I lived life greatly
I knew what was in my heart
Because they helped me feel like myself
 We laughed till we cried
We stayed awake till others awoke
 We spent simple days together
 Now here I lay
 Dead cold outside
 Wondering what happened
 Staring at the ceiling
 But there is only darkness
Seeing a streetlight through my window
 And shadows of trees
 You know they are there
But you can't see their detail
I wish you could arise from the shadows
