Born This Way
I live in a world,
where I have to hide my heart
And can’t be respected for who I am
Now I see who I really am
and I won’t part from my heart
When I look at my brothers and sisters
their joy for Pride
They should never hide.
My walk, My talk
all coincides
Even if they say my ways are not of God
I can proudly say
He Lives in Me
Just as he lives in you
Looking over everything we see
He’s guided me up too this day
and in his reflection
I am born this way
Although your hate has made me fall
I will stand tall
I will Be GLAAD
No matter what they say
I am born this way
and with their prejudice
I will find my Pride
It’s deep inside
Everything I do
Who would think this Life I’d choose
To shame my mother
and shame my father
Who despise my choice
in which they assume
It was a decision I made
Mama and papa hear me say
I am born this way
What human would choose
to live this way
All you hear on the news
Proposition Eight
Even Justin Aaberg wrote,
“If you really knew me, no one would like me”
It used to shame me
to look myself in a mirror
looking away I’d try
to hide the tears I cry
When I think Matthew Sheppard
How he was tortured and beaten
I think one day
Will I die this way
My Pastor says look to God and Pray
Prayers for Bobby didn't work
I am Born This Way
Now here I am
Looking in this mirror and with Pride
I refuse to cry or even hide
Because of how I move hips
or if I talk flamboyantly with my hands
my brothers and sister lets take a stand
because I am a boy
and I have finally grown to understand
This is who I am
Being me is the way I’ll always stay
yes, I was born this way
and I don’t need any treatments
nor, medicines
Because a true Doctor would say
I am Born This Way
