Free at Last
Dr. King had a dream.
A dream of equality,
a dream of a county free from judgment,
a dream where you weren’t defined by the color of your skin.

He was more than just a pastor from Alabama.
He was a conductor leading an orchestra;
a nonviolent leader of civil rights,
arrested for believing both blacks and whites were equal.

Suddenly, he was gone.
Gone before it was his time to go.
Killed by a bullet filled with hate,
but his dream would soon be reality.

Blacks and whites stood together against discrimination;
they were bullied like kids in the school yard,
but justice would soon be served.
And today the country stands together, free at last
