Don't Blink Now
Sometimes I ponder, as my mind start to wonder
Are we all just drops among the thunder?
Waving a flag of our surrender for each blink to hide away as we sag onto our fears? Is each a link to the missing pieces my mind can’t lay together? In this process I sink to the voice and tell myself
Don’t Blink Now.
Don’t blink now
it may be your last
Don’t blink now
Because the moment will pass
The moment that opens your eyes to the abyss
Now spitting the truth of past as the seconds gone
Like a thrust of cool wind reminding you of the trust
Absent from the finger tips lining your eyes
You must cover the unspoken lips
As it nips at your guilt of what could have been.
Don’t blink now
Because you’ll lock out the beauty surrounding
Covering these ticking clocks
That put a limit on our smiles turning to shock
The beauty within
Held by the rocks care
The soothing air blanketing your body
And the crisp flower restoring innocence through your veins
But we must open up and accept the pain
The faint sour gain our eyes drink from the cup as our eyes open up
Don’t blink now
It will all disappear right before you
Deep in your core take a deep bite into the site
Around you what you see
Is it right?
Like infamous parasites
We crawl creeping blinded by the previous
Don’t blink now
Because the sudden darkness blocks out the chirps of wise words
Whispered in your ear from the birds flying near
To the seared surface we are deceived to perceive
Through the internet t.v
Don’t blink now
Where the dark mirrors appear self-inflicting poison through your tears
Each drop lethally ill
Bound and cropped with sorrow and fear
And conceited shadows linger here
To tower over us like king Lear
And make our dreams flow on and on like lake keer
Spreading to far for the eye to appear
Don’t blink now
Because the things you think you know are not kept
The steps you’ve taken to stay from sinking into the pit of sharp sights and swords
Things eyes mustn’t say
Slashing the memories not missed
Will prick you like pins leaving small holes for the sins to seep in
Don’t blink now
The warmth’s rays will instill chills through your mind
Like stepping through a cold creek
Get a brain freeze as it tries to find the time lost when we blink
The mountain peaks of secrets untold will crumble under your feet
Loose your grip and slip with no power
Sooner or later all trip
Over tall towers told no man could tip
For just one sip of the life you wish to have
The quiver on your lip
Telling you to unwind your composure and fray your mind
And lie still with the kind grass no longer before you
A bystander is what we’ve become
to empty molds with no minds
No aim to these sold
Whom no longer sane
Sold the moment to blink and there they hold.
No lines to cross
No signs to chime in and save the statues now lost
No more life living with what you’ve seen
Or what’s been passed down through genes
Does it matter if adult child or teen
If we are seeing the same thing?
Blink and there will be no more sound sight or life
So Don’t
Blink
Now.
