Forgive and forget

They say to forgive and forget,
But no,
That's like trying to never regret,
Impossible,
You expect the girl,
That you destroyed,
To forgive you, to forget you,
When all along she,
Just wanted to love you,
You tore her apart piece by piece,
Taking her soul away,
You told her bedtime stories when she was just a baby,
Trying to hide the monster called life,
You raised her to forgive and forget,
To never regret,
Cause one day, everything you love,
Could be taken away,
You lied to her, her entire life
Feeding her lie after lie,
The crazy part is,
She really believed you,
You hid the monster you really were,
Trying not to let it show.
You promised her a good life
Kissing her every night before bed,
Tucking her in,
And telling her that you love her.
You promised that nothing bad would come her way,
But each day,
She died a little more,
Until one day,
Everything she loved
Wåš taken away,
The person you love the most,
Destroyed your life,
Taking away everything you know,
That person you loved the most,
Becomes the person that you don't know,
Becomes the one person you wish you did know,
The person you hoped would soon come back,
The person that is known as,
"The person that walked out of her life"
No warning,
No goodbye,
No I'm sorry,
You were gone,
That's until one day
The girl,
She started to regret everything,
Not saying "I love you" to him as much as she should have.
Not hugging him more,
She regretted it all,
Everything started to sink in,
Depression hit,
Killing her with each step she took,
She didn't want to eat,
She was already too "fat"
She completely changed,
You decide to randomly talk to her,
Four years later,
On Facebook one day,
She was confused,
Broken and upset,
You said,
"I'm sorry I had to leave."
She ignored you,
Trying to hide the pain,
That's when,
She thought about suicide,
Nope,
Not just yet.
You're not coming back,
You continued to lie to her for thirteen years,
Telling her that you would be home soon,
Lets face the fact,
You're not EVER coming back.
Time to forget, but not forgive,
Time to not regret a thing.
Cause one day,
You'll be wondering the same thing,
"Why won't you talk to me".
But she won't be there to answer you,
She'll have already forgotten.
She'll have already forgiven herself,
She'll have forgotten those useless regrets.
