Sunlight penetrates my eyelids
Creating a blood-like red

It seems nothing can get rid
Of the throbbing in my head

My body contours it
The soft yet, coarse bed

Sand is my mattress, around me in the pit
The hot dessert paints my face red

How much longer in this fix?
The answer to this question I dread
