Little bits and pieces of me
have come from the writers I hold dear
and the words that have been said
by those I'd never met
I wish to be a congregation
of values not my own
As if only then
its differentiated compilation
could be rendered
my own.
I like to read
I like to read because
I then consume
the bits and pieces
restricted to another.
Because
once the bits and pieces amass from the sources they'd known
then
they are restricted
to myself.
