disconnected
disconnected, but not from a phone or the internet
disconnected from their families
to fly 3,000 miles to defend our country
leaving to fight a war they don't belong in
boom, pow, bang the shots ring out
everybody drops shooting at what they can't even see
running through a living hell
not knowing if they'll see tomorrow
that's disconnected
and yet the ones that make it home
are disrespected
after all they did to keep you free
they ask for nothing in return and thats what they get
nothing
and the ones who dont make it back
families being torn apart
because their son, father, husband, will never be seen agin
disconnected for eternity
and yet you whine and cry
when your phone or internet gets disconnected
