3:00 The Time of Day
Click, the time started turning
My legs were in full motion
My run for the day had begun.
The breeze was fresh, the air was cool, and the sun was glowing.
The hour of so called fun had begun.
After some swerves and turns my group was by ourselves in the land of the woods.
The crunching of the leaves behind us made us jump
But it was just a little critter we thought,
So the run kept on going.
We talked and didn’t have a clue what we were in for.
Then, in a split second, the wind changed directions
And we knew something was wrong
The breeze was picking up it tone
And then it happened
I was in the back of our group
I glanced back for a quick peek
And saw some bag on his shoulders
My heart was racing
My face was flushing
My head was reeling
A man that napped kids was behind me.
The air in my mouth stopped,
The time was a century,
And we had no idea what to do.
My legs were spinning in circles,
My heart was out of my chest
No words were spoken besides the tone of our pants
The quickest was we thought was through the lake.
We pounced into the water,
And swam like mermaids,
The water was eating me alive, the waves were tackling me down
Then, we got to the main road
But his burly shadow was still behind us
We saw the Rock Bridge in front of us,
With only the air of exhaustion in me
I pushed myself to go a little longer
Then we got there and didn’t have a clue where he went.
All we saw was our coach
With black on and a bag?
His words were strange he said.
“Good job girls, nice work out, way to run as fast as you can.”
