The Garden of Eden
One tree.
 One fruit.
 One bite.
 The fruit-
 it’s mesmerizing,
 tantalizing,
 probably delicious,
 yet Forbidden.
 Forbidden
 But not locked away
 Or hidden.
 It will-
 open my eyes,
 and give me everything
 I could possibly want.
 I will be like God.
 How can that be bad?
 Its fragrance
 wafts
 everywhere.
 I walk
 s l o w l y
 to the center.
 where it grows.
 The Tree.
 With The Fruit.
 That
 One
 Bite
 Is all it takes.

 Crunch

That’s the sound of the world shattering.
