We're losing but all isn't lost
We’re losing
But all isn’t lost
We smell like sweat
Dirty and tired
Tired from this long war.
I see nothing but
Flat land all
Around me.
I taste like
A roast chicken with bitter dust
From this deadly heat
That I walk in.
I feel the ground
Trembling with fear
Beneath me.
The sound of bombs
Exploding beside,
Behind, and in
Front of me
We are in
Iraq fighting
This war for
You and me
This traitorous long
Road we take brings
Us to the life
Of great success
We’re losing
But all isn’t lost
In the long war
We are in today
This is Iraq
And we are
Fighting this
War for you
And me
We’re losing
But all isn’t
Lost today
