Breathtaking Blue
We walked across the bridge,
through the large weeds
and there it was.
Breathtaking and beautiful.
I had never seen the ocean before,.
I hadn’t expected it to be so clear,
yet so blue.
People sprawled out
On their towels.
Soaking up the warm sun,
Darkening their skintones.
I chose a spot
to lightly set my towel down
and grabbed my camera.
“Where are you going?” dad asked.
“To take pictures” I yell back.
The houses that lined the beach
were big and gorgeous.
Painted in warm colors,
to match the air.
I turned to capture the ocean
in my lens,
the clear blue waves
colliding with the shore.
