Graduation
Graduation (Leaving my past)
Putting on the hat of success,
Wearing the robe of my beginning.
I’ve not only completed my past,
But I’ve earned the right to say I’m winning.
The tears of my people,
The enjoyment of the feeling.
Opening my eyes to the spotlight,
And feeling the golden light from the ceiling.
Regretting none of my decisions,
Making my choices at hand.
Looking at my mother eyes as I’m on the stage,
Crystallizing like the summers sand.
I made the choice to leave,
But ill return as soon as I can.
My future awaits me through the gates of gold,
My life as I knew it matured into a man.
