Secrets
We all have those deep dark secrets
That we can’t help but hide.
Things forgotten in the past.
Things that could affect the future.
Secrets about secrets,
And people alike.
Regrets and unknown aspirations.
Things you would never want people to know.
They pounce and prowl and jump around inside of us,
But we won’t let them go
Tiny.
Bulky.
Secrets that can harm.
Secrets that can help.
Then we get so used to holding them in,
We don’t even realize we are keeping them anymore.
In a world of mystery
How do we know what’s true?
Because secrets come hand in hand with lies
