Undying Love
Sitting here staring at this keyboard thinking about who to write about
Going through all my family members, and you are the only one my mind points out
Thinking about about you, thinking about every little detail of you brings a smile to my face
All the things I've learned from you, like how to say grace.
My dear grandma everyone knows you as the woman with such a big heart
To stay in your loving arms day in and day out, I hate it when you have to part.
Your rough hands that show years of hard work to those joyous warm eyes
I promised to be a strong girl for you, but I've learned that the hardest parts are goodbyes
You went on a trip and it's only been a few months but it seems like an eternity and I miss you so much
Remembering how you rocked me in my crib, the way you'd do my hair, grandma I miss your touch
Crying and torn apart or skipping and full of laughter, you were always who'd I run to
Reassuring me and taking away all my fears, grandma I thank you.
I always look back to the day you hugged me out of nowhere and with tears in your eyes said “I love you”
From that day on I became a better person, you gave me a different view
And when you go, you always take a part of me but I always keep close those sweet lullabies you'd sing to me
I would be cradled in your warm embrace and my ear next to your chest, my hand in your hand.
I would always try to sing those lullabies
but what I didn't realize was that it was in a language I didn't yet understand.
Now as I sit here and think of you and everything you've done for me , I know now that language is love.
You've given so much grandma. All your time, effort, advice, but most of all your love.
