My world is different from yours,
Of this we can be sure.
We come from different places,
Have different stories,
Different friends.

Yet you seem unable to get past these differences,
See the good in me,
The common good.
And so I wonder.
I wonder if this is worth it.
I’ve tried so hard for so long.
Yet you refuse to see me,
See me at all.

I’ve tried so many times to be a part of your world,
But we both know I don’t fit in.
I’m no good with words,
No good with reaching out,
No good at much,
Apparently.

But it’s the fact that I try for you,
That little fact alone should speak volumes,
But I guess its because we are from different worlds,
That’s why we could never be together.

During the day,
I catch sight of you.
Fleeting glances,
But yet they are still of you.
I look for you, you know.

Although we may be from different worlds,
That does not mean that I will ever give up.
This leads me to wondering.
Do you ever look for me?
See me passing by and stop and think?
Think about me?

Am I really that different from you?
So insignificant,
That I am even unworthy of your thoughts?

I know not why I keep trying,
It’s futile,
We were never meant to be.
You are you, and I am I,
There’s no way to change that.

And yet I can’t help myself,
Yearning for your voice calling my name,
Your face searching for mine,
Your heart beating faster when I walk by,
The same way as mine does for you.

I wonder if we are really from such different worlds,
That you even find it impossible to see how much I love you?

I try to hide it,
I won’t deny that.
We are just so different,
And I am afraid.
Afraid of your rejection,
Seeing me as a child,
Someone not worthy of you,
Someone not good enough.
It’s how I see myself in comparison to you.

Honestly, I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up.
I may have pretended to move on,
Pretended to like others.
But you are the one,
The one who makes me laugh,
So easily,
And you have so much control over me,
More than you could ever realized.
And so I wonder how long I must wait for you to come,
Come to me,
Be with me,
And see me.

I want you.
I want you to be on my side,
No matter the circumstances.
Us against the world.
No one is there to stop us,
Together we are unstoppable,
The perfect pair,
Yin and yang.
I will never lose hope.

It will always be you that I want.
And I realize that we are just so different,
For we come from different places,
Have different interests,
Different status,
And so I will remain unseen,
Unheard and invisible
In My World.
