A conversation among strangers
“Are you sure we’ve met before?
Yes, yes maybe in a dream, but ever awake, as ourselves?
You don’t remember, eh?
Well, I can’t say we have.
My face is no different than the lot.
Yes I have a nose and a mouth and two eyes, I look very much the same as everyone else. I am very easily mistaken.
My hair is hair and my skin is skin, shallow.
Sometimes I lose myself in the crowd because I am everywhere.
Because we all are the same.
Sorry, I say. We may have met before, but then again I wouldn’t know if we had. I see you everywhere too.”
