Sometimes I wonder if any of this life matters,
This vast, chaotic life that tells me,
I’m a failure.
It tells me not to get back up from that rubble
Because it’s just not worth the muscle.

Sometimes you’re so deep in a pile of doubt.
Doubt, frustration, pain.
And all you can do is cry,
But the tears only sink you further and you start to
Drown in the mud.

Sometimes we get slapped so hard and touch the print on our face
As if we deserved that dream to be shot down in one swipe.
As if we aren’t good enough to hit this world right back.
We’re told we get stronger when the pain is too much to bear,
When all we want to do is fold even when we know we have a full house.

Sometimes I just have to brush the dirt off my knees,
And keep walking.

Sometimes you need to let that river accumulate around your ankles,
And splash in the puddles.

Sometimes we need to realize that most of the time,
Life is worth the battle.
