Don't belive a word they say,
It's nothing worth your time.
Darling, put the blade down,
I know they've crossed the line.
Put the pills back in their bottle,
For it's your time to shine.

Cover up that scale for good,
And go get something to eat.
There are many battls planned in life,
This one you will defeat.

Your life is a big long book of things,
And you've only gotten through one sheet.
So learn to overcome their hate,
For it's part of your fate.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece when my best friend, who lives two states away from me in Texas(I live in Mississippi), was going through a very rough time at home and school. She inspired me to write this piece for her in hopes of it explaining to her that she needs to be herself and not care about what other people think. She's a lot better now and I'm grateful for that.
