Together
I can’t love you right now,
And you can’t focus on me,
We are two separate people, on two separate ends of existence doing identical things,
Sewing and mending the fraying patchwork of our lives,
In hope that when the next storm or catastrophe looms over the horizon,
Or swallows us whole, in the darkness that you can never seem to peer out of,
Maybe,
Just maybe,
We can catch enough wind to travel away from each other.
