Everyone just want’s a hand
A hand to reach out and save them
A hand to grab theirs
Pulling them out of their mayhem.

But no one wants to give their hand
To a person so in need
But instead they make it worse for them
When safety is what they seek.

Instead of helping, they insult
Make their suffering worse
It’s almost like everyone suffers
From this everlasting curse.

Trapped in pain for all eternity
Seeking a special knight in armor
But the knight died on its way to save
The hidden royal honor

The royalty hides inside the pain
That the peasant waited to be gone
But the knight they waited to help them out
Died in the forest at dawn

Or maybe that knight got lost
Through the forest they traveled through
Or maybe he got mauled or worse
No one ever knew

But the damsel in distress ended up trapped
With dragons that teased to her all
Who blew fire slowly burning her dress
Causing the tears to fall

“The slayer is coming” she believes
“He will arrive soon one day.
And he will take me out of this mess
As we ride his horse away.”

She kept thinking he would come to save her
But he died along the way
Yet he was still the reason she had hope
That she’d be saved one day.

Truth is the princess was never saved
And she began to give up on hope
As every day the dragons teased
On the dreams she couldn’t grope.

“He’s on his way, I know for sure.”
She’d tell herself each week.
For she wanted to believe that soon one day,
She’ll attain of what she seeks.

To be happy and see the sun out in the day
From outdoors in the meadow
But her life all had depended on
The now dead young fellow.

She wanted to see the clear blue sky
And frolic around the trees
And live what she’s seen outside her window
Her life depending on beliefs.

The dragons laughed and teased her dreams
“The knight will never get here!
He died along his way to save you
Don’t bother shedding those tears.”

The princess denied all their words
They said, although, from what it seems
The truth was more painful than the lies
She had witnessed in her dreams.
