The Host
Would you run and hide?
If everything you've known in the world is suddenly no more.
Would you still fight to stay?
With no one left to hold;
with no one left to care;
with no one left to hold your hand in this time of despair.
Or would you fade away?
To this blackness of a planet that was once called earth,
but is now only a memory.
Would you look at the creatures who took away your world?
Their cold silver eyes,
thin pink scar on the back of the neck,
and at once you know they hold the memories of the human that was once there,
but is long gone and totally unaware.
So would you let them take you?
And totally erase you.
Because to them you are only a body to use as a host for the mean time,
and nothing more.
What would you do?
Would you let yourself become nothing but a Host?
