Favorite Black Dress
Her eyes speak words
Her lips cannot bare to say
Her thoughts,
Tying her down
From her creativity.
She has dark desires
A need for blood
But not yours...
She craves her own
For there's a bit of devil
In her angel eyes.
Blades creeping across her skin
Scars hidden
By long sleeves and jeans.
What you couldn't understand,
Is the absolute pain
She must be in
To slice her own skin
Just to be assured
That she's still alive.
She was in pain
And no one saw.
Hurting for so long
The pain eventually disappeared
She was still dying inside
Just used to the feeling
The numbness took over
Till she felt nothing at all.
Can you hear her cries?
Could you see her pain?
Her silence,
Was a cry for help
That no one could hear
Through that fake smile,
There is a tear
Dying to escape.
She lashed out,
To create attention.
Most thought she was rude;
When in reality,
She just wanted someone to listen.
For her sadness,
Was neither beautiful,
Nor poetic.
And today,she'll wear
Her favorite black dress,
Hair tied in a boy.
She's all dressed up
For her own funeral.
And her favorite accessory?
The rope necklace,
From which she now hangs.
