In Black

We are in black
Men of immaculate suits and ties.
Men of unimpeachable political repute.
Men brewing our
“truth”.
Ph.D.’s in "common sense",
Shadowboxing conspiracy and Lex Luthor
Defining acceptable outcomes for “public good”

We are the men of shined shoes and honed ties of obsidian sheen
Men who routinely grind “the blacklisted” between public frenzy
and political caricature

We are the “Men in Black”
We come in vengeful numbers
To decide the writing-on-the-wall
We kill the author.
We tear down the wall.

The past is inscribed in stone
written it in our jet black.
We rage as violent red as
puppeteers of fate.
As the world’s destiny burns in blue fire,
We decide the future.
It needs no revision.

We are the “Men in Black”
Our future doesn’t exist yet.
Not
Yet.

The author's comments:
I take this mostly from the "X-Files", "Men in Black","The Matrix" and other such movies with shady governmental men in suits wielding more than a little power. Cliche, but tell me it doesn't work.
