This Poem Is Nameless To Make Me Seem Clever

I wake every morning,
Wipe away sleep from still-tired eyes.
Put on something human,
Don’t bother asking why.

Sometimes it feels like it’s me against the world,
Lately I've been feeling like Atlas.
I don’t feel like being me today,
Can I please try on another mask?

I want to be kissed in the pouring rain,
Things get tangled up in my head.
Touch the sky and make it count,
Am I really better off dead?

It seems I constantly find myself,
Asking the mirror who I think I am.
The thought that counts,
What a righteous scam.

Slam the door,
Just for the thrill.
I take it all back,
Too bad I never will.

I find today that forever is not enough,
Your love I definitely don’t deserve.
I’m frozen like a deer in your headlights,
Like they say I beg you don’t swerve.

If I decide to freefall,
Who’ll bother to catch me?
We’re all sort of broken these days,
You’ll wait and you’ll see.

Don’t believe in church but God,
Don’t believe in punishment but justice.
If all existence were to simply fall away,
It’s you that I would miss.

Does it even matter if I dance alone,
Or maybe if I happened to lie?
This road only leads down one path,
Shall I laugh or shall I cry?

Whisk me away to a time far ago,
Where only the memories remain.
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men,
Couldn’t seem to put me back together again.

You’re collecting a jar of my trust,
And dangling my heart from your sleeve.
A promise can’t fix everything,
But for my sake don’t leave.

I’m certain I’ve known all along,
That fire burns so hard and hot.
It would’ve been better to let the torch drop,
But for the life of me, I forgot.

You told me I was beautiful,
Under the starlit moon that glowed.
I got a taste of blood and yearned for more,
I wished for you on 11:11, I should’ve known.

Every act will have a consequence,
But to start this flame I never intended.
Misfortune is a dying shame,
And I taste, we never ended.

Throw me up like a fistful of stars,
To where time doesn’t reside.
No air up here I can’t breathe,
So this is where the noise has died.

It seems like the sun doesn’t want to shine,
The water happened to be tested by two.
I ought not to really shouldn’t I,
I’ve created a fool out of you.

Maybe today he’ll sparkle for me,
Pennies will rain down like lost childhood.
I feel small inside as I go to turn away,
But as I left, still you stood.

A liar is a coward of the truth,
So where on the map does that put me?
You aren’t but a tiptoe away,
This it seems you will always be.

You’re like a beautiful nightmare,
I turn away to run, so far.
Like a tease I couldn’t let you go,
Something more, they always are.

I don’t believe it’ll get better,
I’ve been here all along.
It’s really a funny story,
How I could be so very wrong.

The world still turns regardless of the time,
And life will go on even when you can’t find a friend.
I have no idea what I happened to have told you,
But it seems that you and I have reached our end.

A random collection of thoughts portrayed in a very nonsense fashion, that hopefully someone can find meaning in.
