To wing it or not to wing it- that is the question:
Whether ‘tis easier to study the night away
And lose a night’s sleep
Or to catch the extra Z’s
And use the time for a rejuvenated feeling.

To Study, to procrastinate-
No more- and by studying
To accept the challenge
That each lesson holds-
‘Tis a bore
That puts us to sleep.

To wing it, to dilly-dally-
To dilly-dally too long. That can be a problem
Because by fooling around, everybody else could be finishing
While we’re putting off the beginning.
We have to look at the paper in front of us
And process the impact of the test on our grade
That’s what’s scary about winging it.

Because, who really finds studying fun,
Making detailed flashcards,
Reading the whole chapter,
Reviewing the lecture notes,
Taking fifteen practice tests online,
While there’s some try-hard who already did that a week ago
And the condescending faces
Of the studiers who look at us
When they could wing it
Just as easily as we can?

Who would take the risk,
To Christmas tree all the answers,
With the chance that we might be answering everything wrong,
The mysterious answers that have to be one of A through E
The good students bubble
As we sit there dumbstruck
Wishing we had even looked at an outline
Rather than gone to bed at a reasonable hour?

So, the chance that we fail makes studiers of us all,
And so those extra hours of rest
Are rotten because of the impact they have on our futures,
And the shining temptation of the pillow
Loses its luster rapidly
So that we may pass the exam.
