Apples

The air smells like crisp apples, cold and ready.
Wafting through the air like the leaves,
on an autumn breeze.

The air smells like crisp apples, cold and ready.
Sweet and juicy honey crisps,
at the peak of the mountainous tree.

All the best apples are at the top,
just waiting and ready.
Picked by the bravest one,
who climbed the tree.

I don't know why but I can think of is William Carlos Williams's poem about plums. This is a wonderful poem. It appealed to my senses. Suddenly I'm in the mood for apples.
