Don’t go out on weeknights until you’re done studying; don’t go out on weekends unless you’ve done at least 3 hours of SAT; get a 2400; get a 36; get straight A’s; 5 APS? Why not 7?; Did you finish your ACT homework?; why did you only get a 30 on the stimulation?; balance a job, dance, volunteering and school; become the best dancer your guru has had, or do you want your parents to waste 10,000 dollars on your Arrengetram; don’t slack off; why are you crying?; get into direct med school; do you really want to spend another 12 years till you’re a surgeon?; get a scholarship for an out of state school; do you want your parents to even taste retirement?; don’t forget to go to Youfit unless you want to be the fat baboon you are so readily becoming; 113 pounds; why not 112?; but I’m trying to get healthy it’s just taking longer; finish all the laundry so mom doesn’t get stressed out; be there for mom; be there for dad; be there for myself; stop causing everyone stress; learn how to cook Indian food; have tea ready when mom’s home so her day is a little less miserable; clean your room before dad starts his rant about responsibility; try your clothes on before you put them away so you realize that fat baboon you are so readily becoming; stop being insecure, get it together; why are you crying?; wake up early and catch the bus or do you want dad to juggle dropping everyone off in the morning; avoid morning arguments when you’re cranky, it’s not worth it; appreciate your family, you’ll regret it one day; stop being selfish and put your family first for once; but I do, I just want to spend time with my friends sometimes too; get into college; UF isn’t good enough why not an IV league?; get into the top 10 percent, done; get into the top 5 percent, done; get into the top 1 percent; but I’m already in the top 5 percent, I’m doing the best I can; not good enough; mom was a gold medalist, what have you done?; stop comparing yourself; maybe you would have some self-worth if you weren’t the fat baboon you so readily became; he loves me; he loves me not; get your priorities straight; enjoy your high school years, they’re the best of times; stop goofing off these high school years determine your future; marry an Indian boy, an Indian doctor, MBA’s aren’t good enough anymore; teach your children about our heritage, raise them as you were raised; but what if they want to explore different paths then mine?; you mean to say that after all you are really going to be the kind of person whose children don’t look up to her?
