The Rising Sun
The sun rises over a small city
One would think of this to be peaceful
But this isn’t that
The new day shows the chaos of night
Buildings smoldering from the flames of war
Concrete and metal in piles of red, painted red
Red from the bodies that litter the streets like garbage
Modern technology, machines of war, broken and blackened from each other
Streets that were full of life, now only hold death
The bodies of soldiers, torn apart, covered in cuts, bruises and blood
These two forces clashing, like two hammers striking one another
The sun rising higher starts to reveal the horrors of war
The smoke rising in the air, higher than the clouds
These streets are bathed in blood, now dirty and dark
If you stay still and listen closely, you’ll hear the flames of war
Flickering in the dark, never to be extinguished
