Recovering
They say the first
step to recover is
knowing you have a problem.
But what's my problem?
my problem is you.
I was there for you
for a short time and
loved you through all
your good and bad times
yet you only thought
of me only as a
friend.
They say the second
step is to forgive
and I do forgive you,
I forgive you for not
answering my messages,
I forgive you for pushing
me to the side after you moved,
I forgive you not being
there for me in return when
I found peace in the Dark,
I forgive you for forgetting me.
They say the third
step is to forget
and I desperately try
to forget you,
forget the many times
you made me laugh,
forget the box that's filled
with the drawings you made me,
forget how seeing you
always brightened my day,
forget how you made me
forget my problems,
forget that I ever fell
in love with you.
They say the final step
is to move on,
I try to move on every single day,
I try to forget you just
as easily as you forgot me,
but as these days
turn to years,
I begin to think of
you less and less each day
as I grow closer
to recovering form
my addiction of you.
